LIST OF ISSUES
Education
I believe education is an issue at the local level and one best made by parents, not the government. We must strive for the best education for the future of the next generation. I will fight to eliminate critical race theory from our schools and ensure we get back to improving reading, comprehension and mathematics for South Carolina.
The Economy
Inflation has made gas prices, food prices, and housing prices skyrocket during the last few years. Lack of adequate affordable housing and rent are an issue leading to one of the highest eviction rates in the country at 18%. This is dire when we are trying to raise a family, especially a single parent household. As a small business owner, I will fight for family owned business in the District. We need a thriving economy and District where the people go to work everyday to make our communities more responsive and responsible.
Protect the Unborn
As a mother of six, I value life and especially the most innocent. Planned Parenthood exists primarily for the purpose of providing and monetizing abortion. The government should not fund killing our future generations and innocent lives. There are hundreds of alternative providers that assist women in health and mental services to cope with the realities of life. Our Constitution states Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and we must stay committed to the basics of governance.
Protect the Family & Law Enforcement
The family is being attacked today and we must be bold to defend it. Often the attacks come through incursions on the Constitution. One of the important roles of a legislator in South Carolina is to have a strong basis of moral values and who will interpret the Constitution as it was originally intended. The family has been the center of attack, and to build a better city we must focus on the family. I stand behind our law enforcement officers who took an oath to protect and serve the American people.
Protect our Faith
Our Freedoms come from God, not the government. I want to get prayer back into the school system. We must have the freedom of religion and understand the principles and values our country was founded upon. So many have sacrificed for the freedom of religion, and it’s the reason America was founded.
Protect the 2nd Amendment
The Founders wanted the American people to be responsible for defending our homes and our liberties. Shall not infringe is the end of the debate not the beginning. I will tirelessly defend the 2nd Amendment rights of the citizens of South Carolina. I will also strongly reject incursions like red flag laws that deny citizens due process and equal protection under the law.
